Goal achivement

What is it indeed that what motivates us to go straight after those so desired goals? What does it take to start a diet, to keep up with it? This has caught my attention going through some tips and recipes we found on a few lifestyle magazines with their new even scientific approaches on dieting and weight loss. First of all, as an ongoing Nutrition scientist, the supposed scientifically approached piece of it, could have not been more or less bad… and as always, just another piece of vague inaccurate garbage, any person could have come up with. But that is not what really turned us mas, oh no… Once you started on the actual tips and sometimes actually very good looking recipes, you then understood, healthy and tasty eating had been scientifically proven to take forever to make, or to be rich and have a personal cook.

We wonder if these good looking unachievable sort of suggestions, are actually what people are looking for when buying and reading the magazines, or whether there could be an improvement, starting from the fact that food choice can’t only be made on a health related concerns basis (lets reduce dieting to health related concerns…) , but also convenience, price, and sensory appeal have been proven to be important determinants for food choice. (McIntosh, 1996; Rappoport et al., 1993; Steptoe et al., 1995)

I would like to believe I’m not really into complicated cooking, but don’t get me wrong, those who know me understand its more to speak of elaborate and full of joy and love recipes, which oh yeah sometimes are very easy and actually very fast, some other times the time spent in them only rejoices my love for food, cooking and well, sharing with my dearest friends.
